With an extraordinary background in footwear, Edmundo Castillo leads creative and design for Via Spiga.
Born in Puerto Rico, Edmundo Castillo started his fascination with shoes at a very early age. During his teenage years, Castillo began to actively pursue a career in design and entered the Altos de Chavon School of Design in the Dominican Republic.
Throughout his career, Castillo has partnered with fashion designers on creating luxury footwear, and in 1999, Castillo launched his eponymous collection. Castillo's designs earned him the the prestigious Perry Ellis Award for Best Emerging Accessories Designer from the CFDA in 2001.
Drawing inspiration from around the world and legendary beauties, Castillo has set himself apart in the industry by creating silhouettes that are both timeless and modern. "Designing shouldn't be about looking back. It's about moving forward," says Castillo.
